A couple of shots from last night with PHD Guiding actually working.
Horsehead is a 14 minute exposure at 800 ISO and Orion Nebula is an 8 min exposure at 800 ISO.
Next step in this steep learning ladder will be stacking multiple images.
At least the sky was clear of clouds. It wont be tonight. Clouds and storms forming fast.
horsehead is a nice shot, clean and nice detail,
i find the orion shot odd and wonder how you got the core detail and the outer edges as do others, i havent been able to do that yet. would be interested in your processing system.
I realy have no set proceedure for processing. I usually start in AseeDC9 editor and muck around with exposure levels and curves to darken the background and lift the midtones till it looks good to me.
The images have not been cropped although I probably should to remove field curvature on the edges. I will post the originals so you can see the difference.
It's realy more good luck than good management.
The spikes are fishing line. Need to get some finer line on the frame to make them a bit smaller.
I will keep working at it. Just tried to stack some NGC253 images I had but didn't realy see much difference in the final product. They were a little out of focus with blobby stars so mmaybe in focus will make a difference. I hope so.
