Western horizons on the central coast

Hey guys.

With the conjunction of Venus, mercury and Saturn this weekend i'm after a good observing site to take the family, a camera and maybe the scope. Obviously it has to have a good view of the western horizons.

I'm thinking of the road past the Reptile Park at Sommersby - if you continue along, before it crosses the freeway it's got a nice view of the west looking down over the mooney mooney bridge. It's the first place I visited for a dark sky outing when I only had my binoculars!

Any other suggestions from the locals?
