I've updated the Buy/Sell [rules] thread to introduce a new rule to the Buy/Sell forum:

A user can only post new threads in the Buy/Sell forum if they have been a member for at least 30 days and have made at least 5 posts. This is to stop new members from signing up and posting something for sale the next day; to protect the IceInSpace community from people who may be trying to ripoff IceInSpace members. New members are still able to reply to existing threads.

The rule is enforced by the forum software, and no manual intervention is required.
I understand that this rule may impact honest people too, making them wait before they can list something for sale, but we also have to protect (as best we can) the existing members from nasty types out to make a quick buck. Hopefully we have none of them here at IceInSpace, but it's better to be careful.
IceInSpace takes no responsibility for transactions made through the Buy/Sell forum (use it at your own risk), but we also feel it's important to protect our members as best we can and hope that this new rule will do that.
It's to ensure that any new member has at least made themselves known, and contributed to the community in some other way, before listing items for sale.
I apologise for any inconvenience, and I'm happy to hear your feedback about this new rule.
