What I really need ... flip-mirror focuser!

What I really need, is a focuser like my JMI NGF-C, combined with a flip-mirror unit.

- Adding a flip-mirror on after the focuser simply adds too much imaging train for it to be practical.
- Removing the focuser isn't an option.
- Without the flip mirror I can not easily use my LX200 for deep sky photography, planetary imaging and visual use, so it's stuck in deep sky photography mode.

I can think how one might be built - cut out the top of the focuser, put a mirror inside, tube coming up in addition to normal image path, etc. Not the simplest thing to build though!

Roger.

Van Slyke got anything like this? It sounds right up his alley.

Good thought...

He has turrets and focusers, but not combination of the two. His focuser does look like a compact one, but not enough to really do the job I want.
