Looks like our Mike cant write his own article and needs to poach someone elses perhaps? Read his \'Lunar Eclipse Essay\' in the latest issue of Australian Sky and Telescope then scroll halfway down in this article by Robert Roy Britt from Space.com here: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3404517/I wonder if he got permission? Perhaps not considering he didnt quote his sources..Naughty boy Mike..
As i understand, all people with a phd or whatever degree they have, must be cheaters too because all of them had to learn their facts at school.
This means they quote many sentences learned from others in one way or the other.
It is very very hard to not use someone elses story or bits of story in an essay.
Ill bet Robert Roy Britt has it from somewhere else how else would he have known it?
So who is really naughty here Bisqueboy? Yes it is you who comes in and accuses someone for no reason.
Now please crawl back to your articles or learn to write one yourself.
(Without using any material published ever).
Yes, unfortunately you're right - but it wasn't intentional. The first paragraph in my article is very similar to point 5 in the space.com article. While researching the article and the eclipse, I read loads of information about eclipse history etc and this paragraph obviously stuck in my mind.
I've apologised to Greg and AS&T for any embarrassment this may cause, and of course i'm embarrassed myself. It certainly wasn't intentional and i've learnt my lesson.
Do you have anything else to contribute to IceInSpace or is your only intention to come here and try and stir up trouble every time you post?
(don't worry, I know the answer already).
Wow!
Of all the stuff going on in the universe we cant even say stuff somebody else has written.......Who cares where it comes from.
I dont think its an issue big enough to knock a planet off its present course around the sun......
A drop in the ocean.....
Can I ask Mr Bisket if IT imaged or witnessed the eclipse - Just so I can get it in your own words, for the record? and I say IT becasue the planet of origin and sex of the individual is very hard to determine?
Leon it is not the point really ... without any comment as to his facts who gives a ratz if a bit of cut and paste goes on in the world.... to argue about it only plays into this chaps hands.
The point is this is a chap with malicious intent.
I dont like it.
He was ticked off for something the other day presumably relating to an earlier nasty incident.
So he comes back and has a swing at Mike.. clearly malicious...
I dont like malicious people and frankly we should not talk further about the article but focus on what is this guys problem.
We all have arguements with folk but to be malicious is a sin greater than anything he aludes to...
I dont think they are strong words at all they are spiteful and not strong words by my description.
So have I ticked you off enough to have a swing at me young fella...
have a go if you like I have enough character flaws, spelling mistakes for you to get your hate really working so have a go..so I can show you up.
Or would you like to be a man and say you are sorry and we can shake hands and be friends.

Mike the comments were malicious you need not respond to such
but in doing so I hope this chap sees that the problem is not with you but within himself.
Err, I can't but help notice Bisqueboy that you have made a total of 6 posts since joining this forum under that name - 5 of them are remarks to the effect that Aust Sky & Tel is about to go under, etc, and now this one criticising Mike's article in Aust Sky & Tel. That's a pretty strong pattern.
Everyone else here discusses all manner of Astronomy related things as well as General things from all areas of life itself. It appears that your field of interest, and in fact your very vision of the world, is very narrow and specific, apparently based upon some kind of search & destroy mission on AS&T.
Do you have any other interest in astronomy? Do you even read other astronomy magazines? Is your commentary ability limited to criticising, or do you simply not find anything in any astronomy mag that is worth praising?
There's plenty of good ones you know: Sky & Space (Oz), Astronomy Now (UK), Sky at Night (UK), Astronomy (US), heaven forbid even the US version of S&T! I've specifically listed those here because you don't seem to be aware of them. Funny thing though, you'll find stories of similar topics in all of them, so I guess they must all be poaching each other's ideas & articles constantly!
Talking plainly now - I believe that your personal agenda would be amusing to the rest of us, if it were not so sad that you obviously have nothing else to say here. I think the manner in which you have presented yourself on this forum has taken away any possibility of you being taken seriously by the membership here, and has in fact done more harm to your point of view (whatever that is exactly) than if you had presented yourself in a more forthright manner.
You are rapidly assuming the image of a sad little troll, living under his bridge with nothing better to do than make sniping remarks at a single target as it happens to pass by. Like the remnants of all bad fairy tales I think you will fade away from our field of interest until we simply no longer hear or see you.
Behind him, Mike has a history, a long and consistent history, of some quite extraordinary achievements. This website for one; first class images of Planets and our neighbour the Moon; organising IIS astrocamps; enlivening these pages with competitions, encouraging others to embark on the journey of exploring astronomy; showing a remarkable maturity and wisdom in dealing with the extraordinarily broad and diverse range of members, and their posts in this community, etc, etc. Personally, I consider that Mike and his helpers have done a pretty good job.
However, it is human to err; hands up those who have never made a mistake. My hand is up, I assume yours is too?
I think that yours is a very cheap shot. I don’t know you from a bar of soap, but so far your few posts have focused solely on negative topics; is that all you are prepared to, or able to contribute? If these issues bother you so much, consider the use of PM – a more mature and appropriate means of addressing issues with individuals.
If you came into my home and displayed the lack of good manners and consideration for others that you seem to have done to date, I would be showing you the door until you were prepared to contribute something more positive and uplifting to my community.
And in all sincerity I appologise for coming on so strong I would like to be friends so lets see if we can move past this.
I get reved up about stuff ..I guess we all do... but we could move past this incident... you obviously have some interest in astronomy or you would not be here.. so lets move on.
Mike owned up to a mistake and that is what you wanted isnt it.. but you have upset people ..think about that..if you want to be that way that is your choice but we can be friends...
Having had time to see the responces here you now know you have upset folk..I hope you dont really want to do that.. I for one will hear you out but being nice is a virtue for your sake more than for others.
You sound like a person who gets their kicks in life by ripping others apart by any means. It makes you feel falsely superior. That's sad.
I have just read all of your 6 posts (great contributions that they are! )
I have in the past (like some others) posted my complaints about particular things, but I don't hide behind anonymity in any site on the internet.
I am not very hard to find.
Come along to one of our Club Nights and we can discuss whatever you like!
Oh, and I have attached a pic for you:

Bisuit come from the French meaning twice baked...so that is a compliment as there is no inference of being half baked.
Come out say you are sorry and share with us what gets on your goat ..we can then all empathise and all will be forgiven.
I feel responsible for starting things off with an agressive responce and I am very sorry... I feel better seeing that but perhaps I caused others to respond in a similar fashion...
So I ask you to show yourself and state your case.
Now, now, let's be nice. I'm quite sure Mr Bisqueboy isn't a troglodyte. (Not that there's anything wrong with troglodytes, mind.) I for one am keenly interested to learn Mr Bisqueboy's doubtless long list of astronomical achievements....

Very interesting pattern, Steve.
I believe biscuit barrels main interest would be with one mag only, I wonder which one that may be? I would love for him/her to show their true identity and prove me wrong.
My aim is to be objective. And I say right at the start "I have absolutely no knowledge or contact with the anonymous "Bisqueboy". But, he has been attacked ever since the very first reply (to which I applied the red cross and which was promptly edited) to his AS& T Troubles post. AS&T explained the change of publisher and Meade (by Meade themselves) have no advertising in the latest AS &T. These were the only two points in that post. So, why was this anonymous person treated so harshly? (Is there other information that is not public?) Had I been treated as Bisqueboy has been, I may well have examined IIS posts for errors. Mike has admitted quite graciously as to his source of information. And that should have been the end. (Still trying to be objective, if "Bisqueboy" , as alleged, is malicious then he will must be well satisfied with the resultant furore) Kind Regards, Neilzstar
