For Sale: Samson Heavy Duty EQ Mount Now with Pictures - SOLD

Please note the mount has been sold.

I have for sale, an Astro Optics Sampson EQ mount from the early 1980's in fair to good condition.

Capable of carrying up to 25Kg this EQ mount would be an ideal mount for someone wanting to get into imaging cheaply.

Comes with 3 counterweights, RA gear and worm and synchronous motor which work fine.

I'm looking for any reasonable offer.

Due to its weight, pickup is probably the only viable option. However I will ship at buyers expense.

Thanks for looking

PS/ See page 50 in Sept/Oct 2007 Issue of Sky and Space for examples of images that have been taken with a 12" Newtonian on this type of mount

Hi Geoff,

Dunkeld is 10Km west of Bathurst on the main highway. So about 3.5 hours from you.

Our daughter actually lives at Kariong, but there are no plans for a visit in the next couple of weeks.

Weight is approximate but I would estimate 30-40 Kg including counterweights

Regards

Lars

Hi again,
Thanks for a quick reply.
Do you have any photos of this mount please.
Also a scale for the photo ( ie: 30 cm ruler )would be great, so I can see the size of this mount.
Also, does it have a tripod / pedestal ?
Geoff.

Geoff,

I'll take some images this afternoon and post them. The mount comes on a pier with 3 legs (not a tripod).
