A Couple of mine of McNaught...

Hey All,

Just thought i would show you a couple of my shots from January this year of Comet McNaught, taken actually with my Old Faithful Minolta XD5 SLR, used print film for all my shots of McNaught as my Pentax 'digi' threw the towel in not long before the comet became visable to us Australia, still it was the first time i had ever taken shots of a comet and although they could be better i was pretty happy with the end result, the prints themselves are actually very nice quality indeed but lost a fair bit when scanning them onto my computer. The sunset shot was about a 20 second exposure and taken looking over the "lookout" over Junee and the other shot was taken through some trees out at Matong about 60 K's west of Junee and it was about a 45 second exposure. Hope you enjoy, as like most of you I'm sure one never gets sick of looking at there photos of this Comet for it truly was somthing to behold. Cheers and Regards.C501

thanks for posting these - yes it was a beautiful sight, and the one thing you will always remember -you imaged the comet as well as seeing it.

Excellent shots! I love the clouds in the shot, gives it perspective and depth!

Well done.

Thanks to the people who have commented on my photos, i know they are a little "noisy" as Bassnut refered to but as i said in my comments about the photos they have been unfortunatly been scanned from my prints which gave them that washed out noisy look, its a shame i cant show you the actual prints for they look 100% better.....Thanks and Regards,C501.
