Images Plus help

I'm trying to get my head around this TSR function, to stack some deep space images.

1) What alignment method should I use?
2) I'm using Translate + Rotate as the alignment type
3) For the Aligment selection, what exactly do I select? I've got reference image ticked, and then ticking the first box I put a red box in the image, and the second one I put a blue box on the image.
4) I fed it 19 source images but it only created 5 correlated images. Why?

Appreciate any help.

Alignment method: centroid
Alignment type: T+S+R
Alignment selection: first use Common point or star - pick a star in centre of field with alignment box, press shift+enter to go to next pic(box goes red on completion)
next unclick common point or star box then click Common angle defining point... box and use the alignment box on a star at a corner of the image furthest from your initial centre alignment star.(box turns yellow on completion I think)
Once done click align box at bottom left - stacking should begin.
hope that helps Mike
Cheers
Doug

Hi Mike

The various ways of combining are on the Image Set Processing videos on the install disk and other variations are on some of the other disks you would have got.

I use a similar method to Doug except I tend to go either side of centre with the stars I define.

Cheers

I gave up on using ImagesPlus for aligning and stacking as it quite often failed with dense star fields or drift as it only uses two reference points (stars). RegiStar has never failed me and as it uses nearly all the stars to align, I use that instead. It does a far better job. I use ImagesPlus for nearly everything else.

The vids pretty much explain everything you really need to know.

The CD's are on their way (not yet arrived). I'm using the trial version for now.

Thanks for the tips.

I'm glad to hear that, I'd been wondering lately if I purchased the right product having RegiStar, with so many people using everything else
