lunch time lessons

spent lunch in wonderous Rockdale Park testing my new (reads new to me but v/old) lens... this could be my birder! its a nikkor 300mm f4.5. it's an old AiS which means its manual everything for me but i am used to that now

bleeding 'ell is it heavey tho. i stalked birds mainly (of course) and there wasnt much there to take shots of. i found a crow washing himself, several native minahs, a crested pigeon (got a good one of it i think), a magpie and a currawong.

I'll have to wait till tonight or tomorrow to see what they turned out like but i am optimistic (judging by the lcd previews).

LOL, unfortunately i forgot that last time i used the camera i had it set to iso 800! the crow shots are going to be at that setting. i also dint change the f/stop so it stayed wide open.... but the shots arent blown out.

I'll post pics as soon as i process them
