funny how you do something and it often returns to you.

A few weeks back we found a purse out front of our home
within it was a substantial amount of cash ,mountains of credit cards
and a cash cheque for 6 k US, we were able from some ph nos inside able to track down its owner .

Today I was trying to catch up my wife across a car park
and due to some lowlife stealing my wallet had an old purse of my wifes in
my pocket , it sorta looks like a wallet i promise , it was full of 50's
to fund an astronomy purchase, to cut a long one short I lost the sucker

the police just returned it to me still loaded

Well done, Graham, it's nice to see honest people still inhabit this Earth of ours. Some thirty years ago I too found a foundling wallet in a car park. It took me about five minutes to track down the owner and give him a ring. The poor bloke was almost in tears of relief - the contents of the wallet, not insubstantial, was his fortnight's wages. In amongst the almost incoherent babble (I think he might have been trying to drown his sorrows) was an offer of twenty dollars to repay our time and to spend on our children. Naturally we declined.

Karma? It doesn't work: I too lost a wallet, though not much money, and am still awaiting its return.

spoke to the finder today she was happy i got it back and wouldn't accept any thing more than a thank you .

Yeah the owner of the purse we found was a bit rattled to john
as she was about to fly back to the states the next day .. she had forgotten to bank the $6000 cheque before leaving and was pretty embarressed by it all.
