Jupiter 3 September
Had some nice seeing tonight and no Jet stream to influence my image. I would probably rate the seeing around 7.5/10 but the trans was probably around 3/5.
The large image is a resample of the smaller image. My first successful resample this year and it shows how much Jupiter has shrunk in the last 3 months. It is now 38 arc seconds across.
Anyway some nice detail in the NEB and some interesting detail in the SEB and SED.
Taken with my modded C14 and mirror at 0.2 or ambient. Skynyx camera and 500 frames stacked in each colour.

Excellent image Paul. Some really nice detail with that C14 and a crisp clear night here in Adelaide doesn't hurt either.
Cheers

Hi Paul, very smooth, very natural looking with incredible detail, the clouds tumbling after each other right through the equatorial bands. A lot happening in the polar regions too.
Lookout Mars!!!
cheers,
Rob

Very nice images Paul, smooth and detailed.
How are you finding the Skynyx camera in relation to the DMK?

Thanks guys your comments are appreciated.
John, skynyx is a way better camera. Low noise and very fast. It does like a fast HD though. The rendering of the avi's helps in getting focus. Worth the money for sure. It will be my last camera for at least 2 years now. I can only at the very fastest download 45fps. A C14 just does not have the light to go to 60fps when I am imaging at 12500mm. It is all about light in the end. The 18" might be able to draw that many frames though.

By Jove, I think he's got it....
Truly gob-smacked!
They are brilliant natural images, probably the best I've seen.
Well done.
Andrew
You didn't by the way take your camera to Jupiter while astral travelling last night, did you?

Here is another from early on in the session. Ganymede's shadow can be seen on the disk and the GRS is starting to come around the planet.
