My attempt at NGC6744 last night

Hi all,
Last night was looking rather good with nice dark clear skies! So out came the gear for a run at ngc6744. Seeing only average as well as transparency but that didn`t stop me.
I would have loved some more exposure as the image was rather noisey with the loss of detail you get when smoothing things out. Got caught out after a hour and stopped imaging when there was only a few millimeters left between the OTA and pier!
Details are: 20 x 3min iso 1600 with my 6" f/5.6 newt and canon 300d.
Deepskystacker was used to stack and the rest in PS.
Done a bit of levels, curves and minimum filter as well as some actions to get it a bit decent! Its ok but will have to do till a good night comes by!
All commenst most welcome!!..
cheers Gary

Nice image Gary. You've picked up the faint spiral structure of the arms reasonable well considering the exposure time. I think you could possibly stretch the data more without introducing too much noise. Well done.

Very nice image Gary, colours look smooth and natural and seem to blend in with the overall image which is nice and sharp.
Quite a few galaxies in the background too.

Cheers Guys.. I think I got the colors pretty good for this galaxy..just need heaps more and longer exposures to bring out the fainter spiral arms and better seeing..
thanks again everyone for the comments!!
