BinTel hits another home run for service!

Some of you may have been following my thread about the collimation of my new C11 under the equipment heading but I have finally got it done, due in large part to the assistance of Anthony and Roger at BinTel in Melbourne.

I brought it into the shop on Saturday morning for them to have a look. Their first comment was "that's way, way, way out!" Which is a few too many ways for me! After setting up an artificial star on the other side of the shop and fiddling with extension tubes to bring it to focus we were able to quickly bring it into submission with some "out of the book" images of diffraction rings.

First light for the newly adjusted scope turned out to be the lunar eclipse a few days later. I had no clear skies before then

I was a volunteer at the ASV gathering at Richmond IKEA. At least two people commented on the clarity of the image, not bad considering the lack of clarity in the atmosphere and trouble I had getting it that way!

So thanks go to BinTel for their assistance and Anthony in particular, thanks mate

Another reason why we should support our local dealer

Ebay can't help with your telescope problems like your local dealer can.
