computer convenient to eyepiece

How do people overcome the problem of focusing something like a ToUcam when the eyepiece control is 2m away from the computer. It seems to me that a movable stand that you could mount the compter on and keep it close to the eyepiece knob would be useful. Has anyone made such a thing?

Not sure of what sort of imaging, or anything else about your requirement Geoff, but in the past I have used Robby's StarMate to give me "remote" focussing. Needs a JMI or similar, and the StarMate of course, but works like a treat.

A laptop on a table next to the scope, that's about all you can do really - unless you have remote automated/motorised focusing.

I was thinking of something along the lines of the thumbnail. Something adjustable, so that the computer was always conveniently in any place you want.

I made up a padded table top tat swivels around the corner of the scope...

This works quite well so that I can position the laptop anywhere convenient on the two sides that are necessary. I have had absolutely no need at all to have it on the other side of the pier.
