NGC 253 with dying Toucam

NGC 253
Fairly Deep.

I can't help myself.
My Toucam is on it's last legs, but it's all I've got to image with, so I am still at it.

I worked out a way to get rid of some of the Amp Glow!

I'm quite happy with it considering the condition of the Toucam. I also gave up trying to capture other objects tonight as the temp has dropped to -3.9 outside and -3.4 in the Control Room

This image of NGC 253 is a stack of 12 x 4 minute images.
ED80, Focal Reducer, Astronomiks IR/UV filter, Modded 840k Toucam.
Seeing: 9/10, Trans 10/10.

Pleased to see that you cannot kick the addiction! Nice image, Ken.

Also that's a neat clean-up Shawn - what did you do?

Thanks everyone. I am very pleased with the detail. That's another image for my 2nd 'You Tube' video
About 5 more objects to go and I can finish it.

I took it out in the Processing. I used the Gradient tool in PhotoShop. The Circular shape, 50% opacity, Darken. Can't over do it though as it makes the stars go dark too.

I also stacked it using a Dark frame, but it came out worse than this posted image without a dark. So I persisted with the 'NoDark' version and used the Gradient tool.

Thanks Shawn, it did get rid of more.

Duplicated the Original, Expanded dark regions to remove stars, masked galaxy region with value from clean area, blurred severely, and subtracted from original..., Did it in about 30 secs, did not pay to much attention to the shape of the mask, you can sort of tell,,,

Great image Ken, you've captured some wonderful detail in that image.

They say that bulbs burn brightest before they blow, it could be the same with the Toucam.

Cheers
