Mike Salway on Wired.com

Not sure if this has ben posted already, but couldn't find it here.

Wired.com has a set of pics/bios of amatuer astronomers, and our host, Mike Salway, is one of the featured people for his planetary work.

He's also the only one that hasn't spent more than most people earn in 5 years to get his images!

this is a perfect example of what can be done with basic equipment, add to this the photographs captured by one of our French forum members with a 4.5" reflector and it makes you wonder about how much we spend on high end gear for results that in my opinion are not that much better when you consider the difference in price.

Excellent stuff, Mike.

It's very well deserved recognition for your skills and the time you invest, rather than tens of thousands of dollars.

Money can buy many things, but not talent and class.

Nice work, and I see our set ups are very similar in that we both have the same jump starter from super cheap auto .
