Venus growing...

Just a composite of a few Venus images taken between 7 July and tonight, showing gradual size growth & crescent thinning. Tonight's image was in quite poor seeing and not many frames were useable.

All at the same scale, taken with NexImage through 114x900 reflector with 2x GSO Barlow. Hopefully I'll be able to prepare a better composite later, using these + earlier & future images.

Cheers -

Great Rob. Are you going to keep going into the morning sky? It would make a nice sequence.

So you don't want me to give you a wake up call at 4am each morning from mid August!

fingernail

Just looked at Venus with my 10" dob. It was 22 degrees above the Sun at sunset, 52" in diameter and its phase was 7.4% according to SkyMapPro. It looked like a fingernail. It will be 53" across tomorrow and 6.7%.
