Jupiter & "environs"

Attached is a stacked image of 22 10-second shots taken with my Canon 300D, using DeepSkyStacker and paint Shop Pro.

I'm starting to get the hang of this method of imaging and plan on taking a larger sample of images over the next few days.

Getting there Shane, nicely done.
What lens did you use? Was this without tracking? Just on a tripod?

I'm wondering what he red streaks are?

Hi Mike:

(hope you're recuperating well!).

It was done through my 28-80 mm lens, camera was tripod-mounted. No tracking (hence the red lines - I'm assuming they are streaked-out stars??)

Thanks:
Mick

Nice shot.

Given that you have taken a series of images with no tracking and then stacked them, my money is on the red streaks being hot pixels which will look streaked after the stacking process.
