first light 400d

well i went and got a 2gb cf card today and thought id give it a go.
focusing is still a bit of a problem as you can probably see.
still learning anyway...

That's a good start there monoxide !
Focus is always a bit fiddly.
Just take a few test shots and check you screen for the tightest star image before you take your main shot.

You've done very well for first light.

thanks Andrew, i still havent really got the focus 100% under control but i had another couple goes. (waiting for breaks in the cloud)
im pretty happy with the shot of orion for still having no idea what im doing i guess ill work it all out soon enough

Nice photos - looks like a terrific camera. Grain looks excellent for ISO 800.

A great start TJ, your second image of Orion looks very nice. The third is a very surreal looking image, I quite enjoy images like that.

thought id have another go, took this about 10 mins ago.
i think the reflection at the bottom is due to my neighbours back light
plus i kinda butchered it.
