Widefield Scorpius, Jupiter and ???

Hi All,

And an internal lens reflection, I could PS it out, but I think it adds to the image...

Cheers

Very nice composition Stuart and a great capture. Jupiter sure does dominate the scene but the milky way evens things out.

Cheers

Nice shot, Stuart. Love the dark lanes in the Milky Way. Can you give us the lens and exposure details?

Lens is the crappy Nikon 28-80 f3.5, but all shots at f4.5. Nikon D100 DSLR.

Ten exposures @ ISO1600 of about 2.5mins each, in camera noise reduction.

Stacked in Deep Sky Stacker. Fiddled with in PS CS2.

Cheers
Stuart

Nice contrasty Milky Way!

I can see the Ghost of Jupiter just above Jupiter
