Exposure was 33x(180sec) at 200 ISO. What is more interesting there is a star and halo reduction function in Images Plus under point. Used sparingly works very well. See animated gif below.

apart from a bit of an egg shape to the stars, it is a fantastic image, love it. Where was the halo reduction function in IP? Is that in the new bete test version (IP 3 beta 2B)?

That differece in the processing looks to be a winner Bert. Love the gif animation too, it shows the function very well.

Hi David

It has been in IP since at least 2.75. In my 2.80 version it is under the Point Menu, Star Size/Halo Reduction.

Don't know about the Beta versions, I am waiting for Version 3.0 to be released.

Cheers

JohnG

Open an image and left click on point and the fourth function down Star Size and Halo Reduction. I used a seting of 0.6 on the sliders on this image. If you push to far the stars turn into single pixels!
Here is an extreme example slider set to 1.4 800K

LOL John I have been beta testing some functions but not looked at the whole lot. Heck I havent even completed the tutorials yet for 2.75 to find all the features. Just been testing the Pentax K10D compatability
