Before my interests in Astronomy came into being, I'd always imagined that Space and all that was in it was virtually unchanging. Everything stayed the same and we would never live long enough to witness these slow changes on the cosmic scale of things.
Jupiter with his moons and cloud bands really rubs our nose in the fact that what we see up there is not static, but a living Universe.
