Brisbane CBD at Night Panorama

Don't bother looking at the attached image. It is a single panel. Couldn't get a decent panorama image at 200k.

The full image is here.
https://global.dwarflabapp.com/dwarf...1377/1377.html

Taken with the Dwarf 3 from the Mt Coot-tha Summit Lookout. The CBD buildings are about 6.6km away. The Port of Brisbane (Top left) is about 25km away.
The panorama is 3x17 panels. Processed in the Dwarf 3's Pano Weave.

That's excellent

While such a scene is the bane of every astronomer it is a great analogic illustration of our view of our galaxy, The Milky Way, as seen as we do, from within, or indeed those external galaxies when viewed edge on, love it. While conducting sky tours for non astronomers, I often use the description of what say Sydney (or Melbourne) would look like if say you were standing on a Hill in Paramatta/Liverpool, looking toward the CBD is analogous to looking into the Sagittarius region of the Milky Way, looking left or right from the central glow the lights thin out and the scene dims, as in your photo, then spinning around and looking out towards Penrith or Richmond, is equivalent to looking at the summer Orion Milky Way stretch, fainter less spectacular...etc
