Service / Repairs of LUNT H-Alpha Telescope In OZ ?

I have a Lunt LS60T ( serial No. 2012504) with a second stack filter ( LS60F - Serial No. 0000446) . I am experiencing two ghost-images when viewing the Sun. Is this something that I can simply adjust ? Or do I need to have this repaired ?
Can anyone assist me with this in Australia? I an guessing that LUNT no longer carries out service/ repairs of these instruments

thanks

Graeme

There are a few things to check.

1. The blue glass disk in your blocking filter which should be perfectly clean and clear. It's fixable if it isn't.
2. Burp the pressure tuner - Take the outer case of entirely, and carefully screw it back on. It needs to be mated up just right and will screw back down without much resistance, so don't force anything. This process makes sure that everything is corrected for local air pressure (they are built 800m altitude!) If you are feeling adventurous, give the inside of the brass barrel a little grease to improve the seal.
3. Without the double stack attached make sure you get a great solar disk and tune it to perfection!
4. Add the double stack with it tilted completely flat and gradually tilt the image so that the image improves in contrast. This is the component that usually is the ghosting culprit - tilt too far and you will see the 'alternative' suns coming in to view.
