Another excellent image of a difficult target
Well done !!
To be perfectly honest I would have imaged this extremely faint emission nebula with little or no moon around as your Oiii signal would have been compromised with noise and this is evident when you start to push the stretch a bit. Even with 8 hours of data it definitely has a higher noise floor which inhibits fine detail. Your previous Statue of Liberty data set was really clean and almost noise free. You can always capture and add data to the Banana which would definitely help.
Anyway enough of my babble , I did run it through Startools again ( I promise this is the last time ) and could only expose a little more detail before it became too saturated , however I did adjust the SHO colour more towards the red bias as it seemed to far to the green ( only my opinion as colour is always subjective). This resulted in the outer nebulosity having more of a golden / tan colour with small structures in red and the main bright banana structure to a deeper blue rather than the existing purple / blue.
Anyway I don’t know if this version is any better or just different, it’s all subjective !!

I think your Mono journey is going gangbusters !!

Cheers
Martin

PS: Can you send some clear skies up to Sydney , the NSW coast has been hammered with cloudy nights since the start of May and doesn’t look like clearing until end of May ( May basically washed out )

Hey Martin. Yes the moon was an issue on this target. Even my guiding with the OAG was a challenge. I'm currently testing to understand what I can/cant do with narrowband. This week I learnt (from you) that Oiii can be affected by the moon.So please dont stop with the feedback as it does help me more than you think.

So here it is. Added another night and this time was able to reduce the noise in both Sii and Oiii

Integration (12hr:45min)
H 57x 300sec
S 44x300sec
O 50x300sec
Flats 90x 3
DarkFlats x60
Darks x30
gain 120, -10deg
Filter Ha Sii Oiii
Bortle 5
Moon 96, 97 & 99%
