Kson 150/750 Refractor, Any Good?

Hey all, I'm in the market for a 5-6" rich field sweeper and have seen this Kson 150mm F/5 refractor on Astro Dog's website

Does anyone know anything about this scope, and any experiences shopping at Astro Dog? Anyone ever used one?

I can't comment on the scope, but I have bought a few items from Astrodog, and have found them very prompt and friendly to deal with.

I have dealt with Astrodog before and they posted what they list fairly quickly. I guess it depends on what you intend to do with this telescope but it is an achromatic refractor, and I think for that price you could find a Decent apochromatic with a little less aperture but overall better quality glass.

I'm aware of CA and all that and know the limitations of a short focus achro. I'm after a widefield sweeper. I've got my 130 F/5 newt for grab n go planetary, and the 8" dob also goes out without fuss. But, want to see what a fast largish refractor does for the Milky way, large extended nebulae etc. I won't be using this for high power or planets.

You may wish to consider either a new or secondhand 120mm f/5 achromat instead. With the right eyepiece these are excellent wide-field deep-sky scopes, and are preferred by some observers to the 150mm f/5 versions.

Has anyone here used a 6" F/5 achro, whether it's this or the Synta versions?

Yes I've read reports in CN and elsewhere, and some people like them a lot for the purpose they are made for, while others say the CA will affect even deep sky observing.

120mm will be a good medium and is on the radar, but will always be curious about the 6 inch...
