think focus and seeing were a bit off as not to happy with this compared to the narrower view from my 10"RC effort from last year

How did you stop the centre from blowing out (a common problem with M42)?

Thanks Leo, M42 being a nebula with central bright star cluster is a different kettle of fish to a galaxy such as this which is a dimmer target and structure, with M42 you need numerous shorter subs so as not to blow out and resolve the star central region
