Petrol heads take note.

Saw this in the paper the other day, I'm no car fanatic but the nostalgia value of this car is undeniable. A modern remake (IMO a thing of beauty as well) of the FJ holden, which was my first car bought for the pricely sum of $50.00

They must have put the FJ in a press and squashed it

MMMM nice little toy, the only problem with concept cars is that they rarely see the production floor.

Cheers

Apparently GM wants this car more than they did the Monaro/Pontiac GTO Ric. I wouldn't be surprised if it made it to production one day soon.

Cheers

I read in my local paper just saturday that the EFIJY won the 2007 North American Concept Car of the Year Award at the Detroit motor show just the other day.

http://media.gm.com/servlet/GatewayS...=2&docid=37297

The same article I read (which I can't find a net link for) stated what I have previously read elsewhere - that the car is SO full of new technology, etc, that it will never be more than a concept car, it's just too damn expensive to put one together.

Here's a link to an FIJY image gallery, for those who are so inclined:

I've read that they wouldn't need to use all of that extraneous technology as it was just there for show and proof of concept. They don't need to include all of that stuff, and could create a knocked-down consumer version. It would compete, I gather, with Chryslers' Prowler for the "future retro" market.

I sure hope so.....

I read an article about the EffiJy earlier this year and GM has stated catagorically that it will NOT be making them. It is a 'one of'.

Pity.
