First light with the Askar 140 APO

About an hour and a half of subs before clouds rolled in.
Brisbane has had terrible weather for what seems like eternity but this Saturday night does hold some promise. Would love to get more than 6 hours in one night.

I have the Testar pier Extension for the CQ350 but with the setup below on the standard CQ350 tripod it’s still a little bit too close for comfort. I’m thinking I’ll just slide the scope forwards little bit further in the saddle that should provide just enough distance and perhaps a little out of balance in Dec but that might work in my favour as Dec is a little loose on this mount anyway.

Was exciting to play with something new.

Looking good mate - I have the little brother, the 120APO, and I've been blown away by it - though, in the same way, I've got to run it a little unbalanced as my filter wheel will touch my tripod at certain declinations due to the overall length of the scope. Luckily my harmonic mount is not really affected by the imbalance at all..

Looking forward to seeing what you can do with the 140APO when Brisbane's weather starts to calm down!
