Thanks David for bringing this up - I had meant to do a thread along this very line a few weeks ago.
Around Easter I had my brother who lives near Alice Springs visit, first time we had seen each other since I got into amateur astronomy in a serious way.
Like me he has always been interested in the night skies and has read a lot, but has had no equip other than a pretty old 2nd hand pair of bino's. I wanted to help get him started a bit more seriously, and part of what I wanted to get for him was some
moon charts...
Anyway I bought a set of these for myself (and they are brilliant), but as my brother would be using new 20x80 bino's rather than a telescope and would be restricted to lower magnification views Steve Massey suggested his own excellent book on the subject:
Exploring the Moon.
The book arrived promptly - very promptly in fact, Steve did a rush job to get it to me in the last mail immediately before Easter Friday, as Phil was arriving over Easter. The book was personally autographed by Steve, and it is an excellent read on the whole Lunar subject.
(reminds me - must order a copy of that for myself too!)
Anyway my hat is off to Steve Massey - he is very helpful, a thorough gentleman, and he made sure he went those extra steps to help me as much as possible. Thanks Steve!
