NGC2070 - Tarantula re-edit

Hi all

Just reprocessing old images because I haven't been able to shoot as much of late.
This is my favourite nebula so I spent some time trying to extract as much nebulosity from it as I could. All SHO and hopefully this year I can add some true colour stars into the field because the starfield here is quite glorious.

All up, 2 hours of O3, 3.5 of Ha, and 8.7 of S2.. such a bright object that Ha and O3 don't need a lot of integration!
All shot back in 2022.

I think also a square crop works well, cutting off that blank right hand side but it's all personal preference in the end.

Wonderful image Adam. You've not only extracted some real deep nebulosity, but the detail in all those knots and ripples is amazing. Well done

Thanks David! It's a nebula that keeps on giving. One day I'd love to have a big focal length scope to start picking out some of those smaller details. I love this area for instance.

This is beautiful! I agree that particular small crop is something I'd love to image with a ~2000mm focal length some time... I like the colours that you've settled on here - its somewhat akin to my recent go at the Tarantuala.

This crop is from my effort earlier in the year, Ha OIII only with my 120mm f/7 and ASI 1600MM Pro... I want to try it again with the IMX571 to see if some of those tendrils can get a little sharper, but I feel like I really need to double my focal length and get in nice and close to do much better..

Yes this one was with the Esprit with the 1x flattener. There's not as much S2 here, but there's still a surprising (or maybe not considering the size of this area) amount of nebulosity.

Hey Alex, thanks for the kind words.

That's awesome. It's a great object, and definitely something I'd like to see more people go after! Great work. Mine was shot with an IMX571 so I reckon if we both want to get sharper, we're going to need more F/L. Yours is plenty sharp though!
