Exclamation Mens business - Prostate check

I found this link and thought it could be usefull to others.
https://www.prostatecancer-riskcalculator.com/

I was lucky to have detected a rise in the PSA in 2001 age 60.
I then had the prostate removed. But the surgeon would only operate with a Gleason score of 7 or less, which i was. Because if the score is heigher, the cancer may have gone beyond the prostete, and removal of the Prostate may be too late.
Early detection is everything.
I'm still OK and don't suffer incontinence (I have to visit the bathroom a cuple of times at night).

5 years in March post op here gleason 7 3+4 so the better one to have if you are to have it.

Since the op apart from the usual issues you get when you have your prostate removed I have had zero indicators each blood test.
So all good all things considering.

My dad had it and left it and hid it until it was too late to operate.

My brother and I have both been regularly tested since our mid 40's when dad was diagnosed. With dad having had it, we each have a 50% chance of getting it. It's a very simple blood test, I get it done every 6 months. Over 60 now and still have the prostate of a teenager. The treatment options with early detection are preferable to those with later detection.
