Pier mount for a HEQ5 mount

Hi all,
I seem to be having all sorts of problems trying to find a pier plate to adapt my HEQ5 pro to for a pier I am planning to build.
Does anyone have any information re a possible source for a suitable adaptor please ?
Cheers,
Andy

Hi Andy,

I had a link bookmarked with the part number for a car brake disk that could be adapted into a pier mount for the HEQ5. I can't find it at the moment, but will have a look when I get a chance.

In the meantime, Morten Frosth in Sweden used the same idea when he built his observatory. You can find all the details in his YouTube playlist:

The pier adapter construction takes place in part 2.

Cheers,
V.

What is the external diameter of the heads shaft?

May seem like the silliest question but whenever I do a rotor change for people (and I seem to do too many as well as my own) I keep the discs because I often re-purpose them for other things I want to weld up and I have several I could check the hole size and maybe tell you what to ask the motor wreckers for.
I have to check the units I recently removed from my old Falcon, they may be perfect for my pier and my EQ5 pro. Saves me messing around drilling and cutting holes in my 12mm plate my plasma cutter won't go through.

Hi Andy,
Many years ago I built a pier to my EQ& mount, later I adapted it to take the HEQ5 mount as well. I have it documented here:

Maybe for some help for you.

Lars
