Me and my wife went on holiday to Uluru last month. Sadly that co-incided with the full Moon, so mostly the sky wasn't dark. On the last day of the trip though, the Moon wasn't due to ruse until after 10pm and we'd booked in on an astro tour.
I snuck away from the car park where the telescopes were set up and made by camera snap nightscapes for an hour or so. The treeline in the foreground is a *bit* rubbish, because a news crew from Hong Kong turned up and actually started filming with flood flights until they were yelled at and turned their crap off. I had to do some editing of 40 subs to get the worst of the over-exposed trees out.
Your image certainly came out very well, especially given your challenges.
I have always (at the back of my mind) wanted to try this but on the few occasions I am a little away from the city, I am usually chasing something else. Your image prompts me to look for a chance soon
Great going Peter, solid star trails there, and yes Uluru is a major draw card for a night scape, on my bucket list before too long..
I think the tree line is totally fine, Uluru outback landscape is exactly what you have captured
