Royal Greenwich APOTY 16

Congratulations to Andy Casely for his ripper Saturn image and Kelvin Hennessy for his ISS transit making the shortlist on the 2024 Royal Greenwich Astronomy Photographer of the year

Well done Andy & Kelvin

Congrats guys!

The press release is only a partial shortlist. There may be a few other Aussies who made the 2024 cut. .

Thank you Bill and to the others - yeah a nice surprise to beat the rain again and sneak on the shortlist (5 years in 6 now). Wasn't what I thought was my best image either! And I'm cranky that the best seeing of a good run in September didn't *quite* coincide with the spokes on show in the rings. Congrats to Kelvin too, more great ISS work after the Malins too. I assume that Barden Ridge might be getting a nod too Peter?

A slightly more extended gallery is here:

seems about half the deep sky images are taken at El Sauce these days, deep sky must be a tough old category to get in to

Well done again Andy.

I can neither confirm or deny the results from the Ridge
