Canon EOS 400D Digital Question

hi all

just a question about the above camera


i read that it isnt possible to transfer raw images from the cf card to the pc is this true or not if true how do you work on raw images on the pc?

as you may see i am a total noob as far as cameras are concerned

havent got it yet hopefully soon

Umm not sure where you heard this, but this is totally false. You can transfer the RAW images just as easy as transferring JPEGs. You just use the supplied Software, which usually allows you to download all the images or just the ones you select. The camera comes with a USB cable where you can use it to download the images off the camera without taking out the CF card.

Ditto what andrew said, but you don't even need the software, windows explorer will do nicely, you can simply browse the camera as though it were a drive, or plug the card in to a reader and the files will be there both RAW and JPG. There is a camera raw plugin for Photoshop (you may need to D/L a different plugin version depending on your Photoshop version) and a Microsoft raw thumbnail viewer powertoy to assist with processing and organising your RAW files.
