M8 Lagoon Nebula - Reworked

Subject: M8 Lagoon Nebula
Exposure: 23x3Mins ISO 800;
Scope: Orion 80ED; fishing line spider;
Mount: LXD-75 autoguided;
Guidescope: SN-8;

No joy lately catching any new deep sky data, so I started reprocessing some of my old stuff - with pleasing results.

They're real spikes induced by a spider at the front of the ED80 in the form of two crossed lengths of fishing line. I likes spikes.

Checked your website and I must say the look of your homebuilt observatory is sensational. Nicely designed website too.

Lovely image Bill, it's looking pretty nice and clear weather today so you might get a chance tonight for some new data.

Cheers

Hmmm, it's Cracker Night tonight. There are so many fireworks going off right now that one of my fire alarms just triggered.

I've got a sequence of 16x2mins running, however I'm not too hopeful that I'll get a good image given that the sky is lighting up every few seconds...

Hi Bill, I forgot about cracker night but I was reminded very quickly with the first bang so I decided to give it a miss tonight.

Cheers
