Stopping by after a hiatus...

Hi all It's been a while. Ten years? More? Are people I used to know here still alive and well?

I'm living on my live-aboard 13m yacht "Bone Idyll" with my dog "Lolly" in Tasmania now, so offloading some of my old gear, hence my re-emergence. After all this time I've still managed to grimly hang on to scopes, mounts and cameras, even though I haven't imaged squat in over two years. I might go for one of these little new-fangled robotic widefield units for a while and bring it out every time I'm back on land. Anyways - howdy.

Gidday Doug! A friendly old face. Reading through some of IIS’ later history is fascinating. Lots going on.

Cheers Morton! I won't be as active as I was, but will gladly look for advice on new tech that's emerged since the old days. Looks like there's lots... LOL

Hi Chris

Still here after all these years too, and call in most days. Great to hear from you and hope that all is well.

Hi Chris

Yes, still here but not ac active, in part due to the poor weather but also the frenetic initial exuberance has been replaced by a more leisurely cadence.

A bit like going from the the excitement of 100m sprints to a more meditative marathon pace.

Be well.

Dennis

Hi Chris. I'm still around and also living in Tasmania now, not far from Hobart. Haven't done any imaging for a while apart for some aurora attempts. Had the ED80 set uo over Christmas holidays for some visual observing. Nice to see you back. Peter

Gidday Peter Jeez, I should have moved down here decades ago. Good to see you're still about and active from time to time.

G_day Chris, I'm still here as well.
Not that active but still alive and kicking.
Seems like life's good in Tassie.
Cheers

Hi Chris! It's been a struggle for some years now - clouds and rain; few health setbacks which seem to have been fixed; building house and unit under difficult building conditions; our friend Covid; family commitments; unable to get out under dark skies for a few evenings at a time; did I mention the clouds and rain! BUT, a couple of nights ago I found a local darkish site, no Moon and no clouds - delightful successful evening with my lovely SDM and old friends in the sky - brought back the wonder of it all! Cheers, Eric

We say the same thing. Why didn't we move here earlier. Plenty of good sailing down here on the channel

You bet! I'm heading down to a mate's place on Bruny this weekend, so I'll sail rather than drive. The channel is such a wonderful thing to have access to.

Howdy Ron! Jeez - there certainly are a few familiar faces here. Great to see! Tassie's fabulous - the sea, the terrain, the air and the sky - all amazing.

Hey there Eric! Wow, last time I saw you was on a new moon weekend at MAS's forest site. You were just about to scarper off to the middle east if I remember correctly. So, you still have the SDM - nice.
