Any British people here who immigrated to Australia back in 1960-1962?

Did you apply in England?

I am trying to find out when my Father immigrated to Australia around 1960-1962 and if it was recorded. Would any records be kept in England or Australia?

Hi Hans,

My parents came to Oz from the UK in 1964 or '65. I recall mum saying that they had to visit Australia House (or whatever it was called) before they could come out here.

So I'd say that the records would be kept primarily in the UK, but might also be in both places - assuming the data from the UK was also duplicated back here.

My Dad is very into researching the family tree. He suggested using www.findmypast.co.uk although you have to pay a subscription. We did a search of passengers with surname Tucker arriving in Australia between 1960-62 and got ~200 results. We could try to narrow it down further if you are interested?

Thanks all for your responses. I used the NAA link as suggested and found the arrival entry for my mother and Brother but nothing regarding my fathers arrival in Australia. The point of my search was to get a date for my brothers arrival so mission accomplished. Thanks again.
