Horsehead

I’m back into imaging after more than 20 years but my gear is still good. I have an 8” Celestron SCT on an old wedge mount that is pretty tricky to polar align, especially in altitude.

I can’t guide (I’m looking at maybe being able to) so limit my shots to mostly 30 seconds. Here is the Horsehead Nebula with about an hour and a half worth of 30 second subs. There is some walking noise in there because I didn’t dither.

Stacked in DSS and processed with GIMP.
