Well I've been complaining about the sky conditions in Sydney and now I've had 2 excellent nights in the space of a week

. My latest set comes from 10th November and after a very brief visual session (even Saturn looks superb down at 30degrees!!) decided to go all out with some imaging. At the start of the session I thought 80% laptop battery and 170GB HDD space would be ample - little did I know I'd run out of both...
I've been playing with Winjupos and finally been able to work out how to extend my data and now starting to really appreciate it. I'm not gunna lie, it took me a long time but finally after trying plenty of different options, mixing different sets and then even adding some IR685 data into the mix, I was really happy to get an output that I could do some extra sharpening in Registax. Frustratingly, adding the IR data really smashed the colour and retained some ghosting around Io so I needed to fix that and ended up using PI & GIMP for saturation, clone stamp and some noise removal.
This is the first half of the night - comprising of a total of 27 captures and 75min of data. The second half was not as good conditions but has the GRS swinging around into view so will be worth the effort as soon as I can find the time.
Also did a rather rough compilation of the data into an
animation with Pipp - but without the final processing that the single image received...
