crux of the issue is a galactic transit

single shot from my time at Queensland Astrofest 2023 . Taken with a small amount of Cloudy Nights 2018 port, a redcat51 with a canon Ra hanging off the back all swinging over a 22 year old losmandy g11 lovingly tweaked and frogginated. all the while i sat there i knew the bloody plane would ruin a shot. after all every photon is sacred.

it was good to be finally back at astrofest

The rig looks bloody awesome and capable...and hey, with that trusty spirit level, you were obviously fully prepared and it was in good hands

OMG – the sight of the H0ugh in action is nothing short of stupendous – never before have I seen so many components hanging off so many optical tubes bolted together in such a creative manner, all joined by a superbly managed nest of wires.

Top stuff Dave, you are an inspiration.

Cheers

Dennis

PS - no aeroplane tracks when viewed on my screen.

Wow that brings back some very fond memories. I had a G11....I was and still is just a stunning mount....so well made...I did upgrade the the worm to an Ovision which made it incredible.

I just leave the satellite and aircraft trails in, The rejection algorithms are so good it just removes them without wasting valuable photons.

This is an example from one of my data sets....especially with SpaceX's Starlink's all over the sky. It does an amazing job. So now I dont worry about them so much.

It really is Rob and very frustrating...but I guess its becoming an occupational hazard with more and more being launched, however the end result was very clean with no wasted subs...

LOL! Its actually your very own image Dave, copied into PS CC and then I selected the trail and applied Content Aware Fill and it got rid of it!

Cheers

Yes - just blink them and you will see they line up perfectly.

PS CC Content Aware Fill to get rid of the aeroplane trail.

Noel Carboni Actions in PS CC to make the brighter stars softer and stand out more.

I did not add, mutilate or damage any data, just teased out what you already had.

Cheers

Dennis
