Great image, Alex! It’s a tack sharp right across frame, including the small dust/gas clouds you’ve captured in the outer halo

Lovely again Alex. What gain are you using? At 60s I expect you should be at unity (100)? I am on the 1600 (139).

Thank you gentlemen.

Oska..John I was at 300 gain. Experimenting...well a mistake really it carried thru from something else I was doing but as I ended up with two hours of something I used it. I stacked in DSS and went with 3x drizzle

In my experiments with the 2600mc I never needed (couldn't) to go over 200. The 1600 can go as high as 350 but it's no where near as sensitive (I think).

Ignoring the cores, I'm not sure but it might be the ST thing with the star mask not being quite right and then getting fluffy stars. I could never work it out. But they're tight as, and the detail is great for 2 hours.

Thanks John for that.

I was just playing with the Hamberger while waiting for the Prawn to surface.

Star Tools.. yes..I recall I played with the settings in " Shrink" which I rarely do and at that point I was falling asleep during processes and probably did not " before" and "after" check...it is all very fuzzy.

Anyways I am rather pleased with the Askar as it seems rather sharp ...or maybe I have the autofocus dialed in better than on the rest

I have had lots of sleep but still feel very tired so I probably won't be very productive today.

Alex

That s wonderful shot Alex - really nice detail through the core and got the contrast just right to standout from the background. Great job!

Can see the outer halo of stars with only 2 hours of data, nice work! I like the detail in the dust lane in the second image too. Nice one Alex

Excellent work there, Alex. You've nabbed a lot of detail in the central dust lane and that lovely 'glow' of all the stars - well done!

Only downside I can see is that the bigger and brighter stars appear to be over exposed / clipped.

Cheers,
V
