Sun images from Melbourne 16 June 2023

Another 6 days have gone by of continuing bad weather. The forecast was for clearing skies this morning. We started with a lot of cloud but some moments of good seeing in between so attempted some 540nm close ups with our 6" SCT. These all failed and have gone to binary heaven. The clouds started to thin but the seeing deteriorated correspondingly so we switched to the K102 for 540nm and 393nm images followed by full disk mosaics in both 393nm and Ha. The incoming active regions AR3335, AR3336 and AR3333 were the dominant features. There were not many proms and this as a whole was a good deal quieter than when we were last able to image.

Another lovely series, the full disc WL images never cease to draw my attention.

Not sure if that is in my DNA or just a habit I've picked up through my own dabbling.

Cheers
