Leo Triplet

A mosaic of the Leo Triplet, shot with a GSO RC8.

Reprocessed a mosaic from 2021, but replaced NGC 3628 with an image from earlier this year. So it is a combo of images from a ZWO 1600MM and a ZWO 294MM.

Astrobin version here

Note: this is the Leo Triplet, not Leo with a Triplet

Mate that’s just stunning! IMHO just the right level of colour and detail- just really great data and excellent processing. I’m really enjoying your galaxy shots keep ‘em coming!

Well, Paul, apart from being a great shot of these three intrepid galaxies, I recon you have used BlurEx very well in this composition, doesn't look too obvious, looks pretty natural and believable, it can be done, great stuff

Thanks Mike. Yeah. Used BEx - well spotted But only for decon operations. Additional sharpening and suchlike done with Photoshop (high pass filter) and some local hist equalisation in PI.

Stunningly sharp and detailed and from an 8 inch scope. It looks more like the earlier images from 20 inch RC's.

Thanks Greg. There was some good seeing there, and of course the latest generation of processing tools make a difference.
