Penumbral eclipse from far southern skies

A crystal clear night here at Kingston, just south of Hobart.

Subtle shadowing, but quite rewarding getting up early for the experience. Image is very close to full ingress.

Vixen ED103S @ 530mm focal length (Vixen focal reducer) and ASI 585 OSC. SharpCap > Autostakkert > Registrax.

A really beautiful image Steve. You're right about the subtle shadowing but the effect is special.

Nice Steve well done on the capture! A good reward for the early wake-up call!

Nice picture Steve!

I'm glad you got to enjoy the penumbral lunar eclipse, it was cloudy over here

Thanks, Joe. It was a very steady, clear sky - the views through my 140mm refractor were also sublime.

A great capture Steve! Watched it from the bush Sat morning in similar weather to yours but with no way to take a proper picture. This more-than makes up for that.
