Hand Held Afocal Moonshots

Hand held Afocal Moon shots 2005/06

We came across this old file of moon shots taken with our Sony Cybershot Digital camera hand held to the eyepiece.

They had never been enhanced with processing because we had no idea it existed. So we tweaked them slightly in PS7 today.

Not the quality of images produced now but we thought they might be a little different to the super duper images usually seen.

Taken with Sony Cybershot Afocal through Meade ETX125PE with Meade 26mm SP EP

1. Crescent moon setting low in the western sky hence the golden colour
5/11/05

2. Crescent moon and Venus also setting low in the western sky 16/4/06

3. Daytime moon around 4pm 24/3/06

Barb & David, they are nice clear shots. I especially like the Crescent & Venus image.

Thanks Ken and Leon.

We had only just got our ETX and knew very little about telescopes then and just thought we would put the camera to the eyepiece and see what we got.

What a surprise
