the Cone

one hour high gain RASA 11 ZWO OSC 120 sec exposures.
I stacked with Deep Sky Stacker and processed with an old version of Startools and a play in Photoshop..I did not cull at all and I think there were more subs with satellites or planes than not ..something was going wrong as guiding was dropping out and lost heaps due to that issue....Not sure what to think but happy to have a bit of a run.

Great to see you're getting some star time at long last, nice one.

Thanks. I had another go at processing and that one turned out much better but I scraped it because I mucked up the stars somehow .... so maybe if I get a little more data it has chance but getting more data is unlikely for various reasons.

Alex, nice one. The stars are nice and round, so guiding could not be too bad.

Thanks Glen. When the guiding was working all was OK but it would stop..maybe lost the star I don't know but at 120 seconds unguided the trails were 5 mm on the tablet screen so if nothing else I need to check PA ...only did it when I could see everything was working and went to do something else...I need to just check everything really...things may have got bumped with the work going on.

I found another 25 minutes on the little card in Asiair that went there by mistake so added that and had another go ...still only on the laptop and old software...other wise this would be a fantastic image

Even better
I've found the cone quite difficult. I've had two goes at it so far and lost patience both times

Alex,
An excellent image on a difficult target ( 2nd image with the additional data )
You’ve certainly got that RASA tamed now
Stars look great
Well done !!
I wouldn’t worry about Photoshop , Startools is doing a great job

Cheers

Thank you very much Gentlemen.

I am rather sure that using high gain (300) with relatively long exposures compared to my past efforts with high gain was not a good move as I suspect that is why the image is so grainy...I think I panicked after the first subs at low gain seemed to show nothing causing me to foolishly up the gain.
