25th Jan Solar images

25th Jan. Today the active region 3190 is on the western limb and will soon disappear from view. It has been good to follow the progress of this large sunspot for the last week or so. Today's image shows the sunspots at 540 nm wavelength (first image) and the same area at 656 nm (Ha) wavelength to show the prominences and flares etc. Each image is a single exposure with a canon 550d camera. Thanks for viewing.

Great images John. As you say AR3190 has been very interesting to follow across the disk. You also captured that large western prom nicely.
