Unfortunately, I'm moving overseas and have to say goodbye to my beautiful first telescope setup
This is the perfect setup for someone interested in a serious visual telescope. I am the only previous owner of this gear, I bought it all brand new around 7 years ago. Since then it has only lived indoors, and has been cared for and collimated regularly.
The tube itself is Saxon branded, but I upgraded the mount to the tracking GO-TO skywatcher base. I will include both the GOTO and original manual base in the sale.
The OTA is a relatively fast F/4.7 (Aperture: 254mm, Focal length: 1200mm)
I have used this scope for astrophotography as well, and it's optics and tracking perform extremely well (see images).
Included in the sale is:
10" Collapsible dobsonian on Skywatcher GO-TO base and original base and finderscope
Celestron eyepiece and filter kit containing:
- 6 color filters and a moon filter
- 1.25" Astronomik UltraHighContrast (UHC) nebula filter
- 6, 8, 10, 13, 25 and 32 mm eyepieces
- Zoom eyepiece
- 3.8 mm ED eyepiece
- Orion EdgeOn 5 mm Planetary eyepiece
- Bintel 2.5 X barlow
The optics are still in great condition, a tiny bit of dust on the primary which doesn't affect performance, I didn't want to damage the mirror by cleaning it myself.
The only cosmetic damage is two small paint scratches on the outside of the tube, and the focuser's turn wheels have lost their grippy surface, but it still functions perfectly.
For the entire setup, I am asking
$2,000. Pickup from Melbourne only sorry, or I can deliver in the near Melbourne area. Inspections are more than welcome!
